Tarhana Soup (Anatolian Heritage)
Method: Dissolve 3 tbsp tarhana in a little water. Sauté tomato paste in butter and oil. Add the dissolved tarhana and 5 cups of hot water. Stir constantly until boiling to prevent lumps. Season with salt and dried mint.
Green Bean Stew with Beef (Taze Fasulye)
Method: Sauté 200g cubed beef with onions in olive oil. Add 500g trimmed green beans and diced tomatoes. Simmer on low heat in its own juices with a splash of water for 40 mins until tender.
Apple Cinnamon Cake (Home Comfort Dessert)
Method: Whisk 3 eggs and 1 cup sugar until fluffy. Mix in milk, oil, flour, and baking powder. Fold in grated apples and cinnamon. Bake at 170°C for 40 mins. The perfect cozy finish to a family meal.
